Coupon Usage Is Up

"Recession = coupons comeback: a 120% increase with $39 million in coupons downloaded LAST MONTH ALONE at Coupons.com."

Well, I certainly have noticed more coupon usage at the cash registers with both men and women. All of this couponing in my home has had an impact on my family. My daughter is aware of how much money I am saving and she realizes how many hours she would have to work to make the money I save in one month.

Couponing is a savings game and so much fun. I can't believe some of the people I know that have started using coupons -- they have really surprised me and are doing a great job. I like saving money in the places I can cut expenses -- especially since we have a daughter going off to college. Also, by using coupons and looking for great deals, I am also able to put money saved towards other interests such as travel, dining out, clothes, etc.

The other day, while I was out for a few hours, my husband and daughter were getting ready for a scuba diving day trip. They needed to pack a lunch -- so my husband goes to the grocery store and buys what he needs. Of course, they bet that I would comment when I got home about what they paid and about the fact that they did not use coupons -- and they were right -- I did. I just couldn't help myself. I had coupons for those items and it is triples at HT - boy was that painful. The bright side is at least my wonderful husband does not mind going to the grocery store or running errands and my daughter packed their lunch. I am so fortunate!
