Couponing With Kids

I am still amazed at the coupon craze. More and more people are coming up to bat to play the game. I enjoy the calls I receive from people that have taken a class and want to share their savings and also the calls from people that have been reluctant to coupon. Now that they have seen how much their friends and co-workers are saving, they are ready to join the coupon craze. I have found that some of the students that struggled or hesitated about taking a class are now some of the best couponers.

If you want to pull the family into your new hobby, check out this article from Red Plum "Coupons Are For Kids! 4 Ways to Teach the Value of Saving."

Kiplinger.com also has a good article "Sites That Foster Good Money Skills."

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the average American family of four spends $8,513 per year on groceries -- that's $709 per month! That does not include dining out. By couponing, you could cut 50% off your grocery bill. Get the entire family involved and you can save a lot more. The money saved could be a down payment on a car or maybe even a family vacation.

I don't know about you, but to me, that is a lot of money. I am sold -- I am ready to start saving for my next trip!
