Our Mediterranean cruise, ranks right at the top as one of my best adventures yet. Our journey began in Barcelona and ended in Civitavecchia, Italy. Each morning, as we dined out on our balcony, we enjoyed watching as the ship slowly moved in to port. I will never forget the morning we came into beautiful and glamorous Monaco. There were luxury yachts belonging to the rich and famous from around the world. Some yachts appeared to be as big as our ship. Small boats, jet skies and more were just dripping from the sides of the yachts and a few even had a car or two parked on deck. What a decadent way of life!

One other memory I have is while dining on the balcony, I noticed a lot of very, very small sail boats moving about in the water. As the boats came closer (literally right under our balcony), I could see they were all children and an adult or two. Each one had their own boat and a few had partners. There must have been 15 small boats. I learned that this was yachting school.
The staff on board our ship informed me that each Wednesday in Monaco the children do not go to traditional school but instead the day is dedicated to honing their skills whether it be sailing, piano, sports or other. It is difficult to digest the wealth and lifestyle in this beautiful country.

There are many ways to travel and cruising is just one adventure in a thousand. A cruise is definitely not on our agenda right now but if I win this one, we will be on our way. You may want to check out this contest for a chance to win a spectacular vacation for two.
